How Long Does Red Bull Last?

Living in this modern time would mean having to deal with the daily rigors of our lives, from dealing with competition at work to our responsibilities at home. Noticeably, it seems like the days passed by so quickly, and the nights are getting shorter.  Because of the demands of life, many people are often left tired.  Unfortunately, for some individuals, work does not end at the end of the day.  There are those people that need to be alert at night, like the students or other field of work.  To help them stay awake and alert, energy drinks or coffee are often drank.  One of the most popular brands of energy drink in the market is Red Bull.  If you are planning to drink one, you probably want to know, how long does Red Bull last?

The length of time that the effect of red bull energy drinks last, vary from person.  Further, it also depends on the amount of drink you consume, whether its 8.2 ounces or 16 ounces.  Mostly, its effect can last 30 minutes to 1 and half hours.  However, it is also reported that energy drinks can give mid-level boost that can last for 4 hours.  In one can of 8.2 ounces of Red Bull, it contains 80 mg of caffeine, and it starts to kick in within a few minutes.

So, how does it work?  The caffeine content in Red Bull works by blocking the chemical in the brain, Adenosine.  Adenosine is responsible for sleepiness.  When it is blocked because the caffeine binds in the receptor sites, the nerve cells are speed up, thus the person is alert.

Many have been reported on the effects of Red Bull energy drink, some are positive while other others are negative.  On the positive aspects, energy drinks makes you feel alert, energetic, and improve your overall performance.  Additionally, they perk you up when you are overwhelmed with fatigue.

On the other side, skeptics claimed that energy drinks are not good for our health.  These drinks will get you hyper because of the sugar rush, but will leave you exhausted after its effect worn off.  Since, energy drinks contain caffeine; too much consumption of them will increase the blood pressure, cause anxiety and nervousness, and diabetes.

When it comes to the battle of energy boosters, coffee and Red Bull are often compared to.  Although both contain caffeine, they differ in amounts and other ingredients.  Basically, coffee is made from fermented roasted beans.  Meanwhile, Red Bull contains Taurine, Glucoronolactone, Inositol, Niacin and Pyridoxine.  With these entire ingredients combine, you will definitely be wide awake.
